3. Marouane Fellaini
The 2012-13 season saw the rise of Marouane Fellaini as one of the Premier League's top midfielders, after years of promise at Everton. The defensive midfielder has often played in more advanced positions, but it was his prowess in dominating central midfield which earned him plaudits this season. A dominant early display against Manchester United catapulted him into the top bracket of players in the league, and he has stayed there since, with many including the wild-haired Belgian in their fantasy XIs. His ability ins unquestionable, with his combination of physical dominance and flair on the ball, Fellaini effectively locks down the midfield for Everton, with his displays a main factor in their good season. Fellaini took a while to fully acclimatise himself to the Premier League, but there is no doubt over his ability to perform on this stage anymore, meaning his signing would be the signing of a player ready to walk into the first 11. Arsenal have played an unconventional defensive midfielder in Mikel Arteta this season, who has performed commendably in an unfamiliar role. Many Gunners would like to see a midfielder with more presence command that area of the field next season however, with Fellaini the ideal solution. He would cost upwards of £20 million, so this transfer really relies on the readiness of Arsene Wenger to break old habits and splash the cash, although few would say Fellaini isn't worth the investment.
