Arsenal Transfers: 5 Reasons Gunners Should Buy Julian Draxler

4. If Arsenal Do Not Buy Draxler Now, Other Clubs May Create A Bidding War

This point is tailored around the need for Arsenal to buy Draxler now. At present, it appears as though the Gunners are the only suitors in for the 20-year-old, however if they wait till the summer this could change. Bayern Munich are always interested in securing the best German talent available, but Schalke are understandably reluctant to sell to a Bundesliga rival. Furthermore, German clubs rarely buy in January as it gives off the impression that they were under prepared in the summer. As such Bayern are unlikely to bid now. But come summer time and the goalposts could move. Bayern and others could activate Draxler's buyout clause, which stands at around £35 million and is only valid during the summer. In January there is no clause, hence why Arsenal are keen to steal a march on their rivals. If they were to wait until the next window then anyone could enter negotiations and create a dangerous bidding war. By the summer, clubs will have refilled their transfer war chests and be ready to spend big. Right now, Arsenal are one of the few clubs who can afford Draxler, giving them pride of place at the front of the queue. Given the rare chance Wenger has to buy Draxler without the competition from others, it is pivotal that the club sanction the move. If Arsenal do not buy now, then by the summer it could well be too late.
