Arsenal Transfers: 6 Players Arsene Wenger Needs To Sell This Summer

2. Johan Djourou

djorou A long-serving member of the Arsenal team now, Johan Djourou joined as a youth in 2002 before making his Premier League debut in 2006. The 40-time Switzerland international have never played more than 22 league games in a single season and spent the second half of last season on loan in the German Bundesliga at Hannover 96. Johan Djourou will also spend the 2013-14 season in Germany, this time with Hamburger SV. Which means that unless HSV want to sign Djourou before he's played a game for them, Arsenal are unlikely to sell him this summer. The partnership of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny was solid in the centre of defence for Arsenal at the end of last season, and with Thomas Vermaelen in back up, opportunities are limited for Djourou at the Emirates in his natural position. He was also poor when playing at right-back.
