Arsenal Transfers: Wenger Wants £80 Million For Alexis Sanchez
City may have to pay through the nose for the Chilean star.
Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez will cost £80 million for any team looking to prize him away from the Emirates, according to The Mirror.
It is reported that the Chilean star has refused to sign a new contract with the club, despite their offer of a bumper £300,000-a-week wage.
And with just twelve months to run on his current deal, the Gunners could be left with no choice but to cash in, or else risk losing him on a free transfer in a year's time.
Manchester City have emerged as the front-runners to win the forward's signature after Bayern Munich cooled their interest, but deals between domestic rivals are often protracted and expensive.
Arsenal's price-tag, though, is unlikely to be met while there is only one potential suitor, and City will be hoping that their North London counterparts set a more realistic figure in view of Sanchez's precarious contractual situation.
Arsene Wenger last week added France striker Alexandre Lacazette to his side for a reported £46m, but the loss of Sanchez - whose influence is key to the Gunners' chances of mounting a serious title challenge next season - could be a big setback.
