Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace - 6 Things We Learned

2. Downward Spiral?

When Pardew left Newcastle in January last year to go to Palace, there were warnings that he is a manager whose teams go on lengthy runs without winning. After a year of unqualified success, Palace fans rightly felt a bit smug and didn't mind telling the Newcastle fans that they were massively wrong. But were they? Since Palace played Southampton in mid-December, they've not managed to score or win in the league. Had all the games been against the traditional top four then maybe they could be excused but three of the four have come against Bournemouth, Swansea and Villa, who all concede. Palace are still thirteen points ahead of the bottom three but such is the nature of supporting Palace, the fans might start looking down at the clubs below them, rather than up if this continues.
