Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace - 6 Things We Learned

1. Worst Display Under Pardew?

There's hardly an extensive list to choose from so we should cut the team some slack but I doubt many could think of a worse performance than on Tuesday. The team lacked any cohesion going forward and defensively looked suspect. Passes went astray, there were no shots on target and the team look knackered - both physically and mentally. The worrying thing for Palace is that performances are getting steadily worse and with no respite coming up, it's hard to see where they will improve. Another concern is the lack of concentration in the side when things aren't going well. Palace have lost four games this season by one goal margins after individual errors - against Manchester City, Leicester, Sunderland and Aston Villa - and this points to a lack of concentration in the side. When performances as a team aren't great, it is incumbent on the players to take individual responsibility for their performances and too many times this season that hasn't happened.
