The departures of Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph will leave a massive hole in the Villa squad, but it's certainly not the first time in recent years that transfer outgoings have left the club with a difficult task on their hands. In 2011 the sale of both Ashley Young and Stewart Downing left Villa needing replacements for that creativity in the side and at the time Charles N'Zogbia seemed to fit the bill. Having single-handedly steered Wigan away from relegation Villa reportedly spent £9.5 million to bring the ex-Newcastle winger to the Midlands on a five-year deal. Unfortunately for Villa fans the Frenchman has never really recaptured the form he showed under Roberto Martinez and while Sherwood did put him in Villa's starting X last season, it might be time for him to move elsewhere. As Sherwood puts his mark on the squad several players will undoubtedly follow the likes of Bent, Weimann, Lowton and Cissokho. Whether or not Villa and Sherwood will rue the departures of the players above remains to be seen.
