Bayern Munich Transfers: 5 Players They Must Sign

It's a season of chance at the Allianz Arena!

Despite romping to the Bundesliga title again last season, Bayern Munich is a club that's currently in a strange spot right now.

After bringing the club so many titles and trophies, some of the figureheads of Bayern's recent success are now not quite at the peak of their powers or have left the club.

Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez, and even Robert Lewandowski's best days look behind them, Arjen Robben and Rafinha have been released on free transfers, Arjen Robben has retired, and star centre-back Mats Hummels has been allowed to return to Borussia Dortmund. Then there's the Jerome Boateng situation, where the club is actively looking to sell the World Cup winner for as little as £15 million.

The point is, it's a big summer (and season) of change for Bayern Munich.

Already this summer, Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard have been brought in to add defensive options, while promising striker Jann-Fiete Arp has arrived from Hamburg. But with the German transfer window not closing until September 2nd, it's hard to imagine that manager Niko Kovac won't be looking to add some further depth and freshness to his squad.

With that said, then, here are five players who would make brilliant additions for Bayern Munich.

5. Leroy Sané (Manchester City)

Of all of the potential transfers listed here, the transfer of Leroy Sané from Manchester City to Bayern Munich is the one that's been most widely talked about in the public eye.

For his part, Bayern manager Niko Kovac has talked up Sané as a dream signing who he is confident of landing this summer. On the flip side of this, City boss Pep Guardiola has talked about how he's eager for Sané to stay at The Etihad and how the offer of a contract extension is on the table for the Germany international.

After losing stalwarts Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery this summer, Bayern Munich clearly need to bring in some new options for their left and right wings - and the directness, quality and end product of Leroy Sané make the former Shalke winger a perfect fit for the Allianz Arena.

For this one to go through, though, it looks like the player himself may have to try and force the issue.
