Celtic Transfers: 10 Big Signings For Champions League

7. Jonathan Soriano (Red Bull Salzburg)

There has been some speculation on celticrumours.co.uk that Red Bull Salzburg€™s Spanish hitman Jonathan Soriano could be on his way to the Hoops should they qualify for the Champions League. According to their site Soriano is desperate to play in the competition this season and, following his sides€™ shock defeat to Celtic€™s future opponents Malmo in the third qualifying round, he could be on his way out of the club to fulfil this desire. With Soriano still having several years left on his contract he probably won€™t come cheap, but with Red Bull Salzburg losing out on the Champions League revenue they might have expected to get this season (having been highest seeds in the qualifying rounds) they might be tempted to sell the 29 year old. A fee in and around £6 million seems likely based on his current valuation of ‚7.5 million (roughly £5.3 million) on Transfermarkt. Given his impressive record of 131 goals in 147 game there€™s no doubting if Celtic could sign Soriano he has the potential to be the next Henrik Larsson for the club. Likelihood Rating: 5/10
