Celtic Transfers: 10 Big Signings For Champions League

4. Javier Hernández (Manchester United)

Okay, I€™ll admit it. When I first heard the Mexican striker€™s name being linked with a loan move to Celtic recently I, like most other Celtic fans, laughed out loud at the suggestion. Given Hernandez€™s (presumably) high wages the deal seems unlikely from a financial standpoint. And let€™s not forget the fact that Chicharito spent last season on loan at Real Madrid. Even as a die-hard Celtic fan I am more than happy to admit that to go from playing for Real Madrid one season, to playing for Celtic the next would be, at least in terms of quality, a big step down. However€ There is a small part of me that thinks (or perhaps €œhopes€ would be a more appropriate word) there could be a small sliver of truth in this. With only 12 months left on his Manchester United contract it seems unlikely that the out of favour Mexican will still be there come the end of the season. And if this is to be his last season on their books, then why not spend it on loan at a team where he€™ll actually get first team football and the chance to play in the Champions League. But yes, it probably won€™t happen Likelihood Rating: 1/10
