Chelsea: The Blues Struggling Away From Home In The Premier League

Chelsea have been flawless at home in the Premier League so far this season - with five wins from five games. However, away from Stamford Bridge the Blues have managed just one win from five league outings, and manager Jose Mourinho admitted how concerned he was with how his side are performing on their travels. Chelsea's Premier League away form so far this season 28/8/13 Manchester United 0-0 14/09/13 Everton 0-1 28/9/13 Tottenham 1-1 6/10/13 Norwich 3-1 2/11/13 Newcastle 0-2 Mourinho added how disappointing results in a number of away games has been a common theme for Chelsea in recent years, and it's meant the side are now five points adrift of rivals Arsenal - who are at the summit. Bad away form is something Jose Mourinho has had to contend with all too often when in charge of Real Madrid in his final year. His side lost five and drew five from 19 games away from the Santiago Bernabeu last season. Chelsea lost five and drew four times away during the 2012/13 campaign, so it's clearly a problem that needs sorting. The lack of goals the Blues' strikers have been netting is the real source of worry for the manager. Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o, and Demba Ba have scored just two goals between them this campaign. Reports have been suggesting the latter could be leaving the side in January to generate funds in order for Chelsea to sign a new striker. Chelsea's remaining away Premier League games this year 9/11/13 vs West Ham 4/12/13 vs Sunderland 7/12/13 vs Stoke 23/12/13 vs Arsenal With three of the four sides Chelsea have to face being in the bottom half of the league, Mourinho's men will be expecting to halt their torrid away run and push Arsenal at the top of the table.
