Chelsea News: John Terry Nominates Former Blues Manager Benitez For Ice Bucket Challenge

Chelsea captain serves his revenge very cold on former club manager Benitez.

Few Chelsea fans had much nice to say about Rafael Benitez, who was appointed to manage the side on an interim basis following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo in November 2012. Among the Spaniard's many crimes were managing Liverpool and talking smack about Blues fans during his time there, but perhaps most egregious of all was his dropping of club captain John Terry during his seven months in charge at the Bridge. Having since recovered his fitness and form, Terry has finally found a way of getting the perfect revenge on his former manager, now managing Napoli. Having been nominated by Stilyan Petrov and former teammate Ashley Cole, Terry accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, in which celebrities empty a tub of ice water over their heads to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, via the ALS Association charity, before making three nominations of their own. Terry's nominations were John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard and in an inspired move, former manager-turned-nemesis, Rafael Benitez. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LumSd0HoUfA Benitez now faces something of a quandry. As someone who has often amusingly presented himself as a high-minded sporting intellectual, the idea of that self-image taking a justified soaking via a bucket of ice water won't exactly be filling him with joy. On the other hand, the few people who have chosen not to accept the challenge have been widely lambasted, with US President Barack Obama the only understandable exception. Either way, if Chelsea fans needed any more reason to love John Terry, the fact he's come up with such a perfect and hilarious way to get back at The Interim One will only deepen his place in their hearts.
