Chelsea Transfer News: £30 Million Rated FC Porto Defender Eliaquim Mangala Wanted

The Sun. The 22-year-old centre-back has a buy-out clause of £30 million but Mourinho is not willing to spend that kind of money despite being John Terry€™s replacement. Mangala spoke about the possibility of joining Chelsea and he responded:

€œIt€™s flattering because Chelsea are a great club and Mourinho is a great coach. I intended to stay in Porto but you never know what will happen in football, especially when big clubs are involved.€
The French international has only just broken into Porto€™s first team this season appearing in 16 League games but was a strong member of Standard Liège team before leaving in 2011 to Porto for ‚6.5 million. Jose Mourinho, 50, signed a four-year deal to become the new boss at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday and is already preparing for his second run as Chelsea boss. Jose does have several other central-defenders in his team including David Luis, Gary Cahill and John Terry but with former interim manager Rafa Benitez wanting to lure David Luiz to Napoli as well as interest from Barcelona, Jose may need to secure more than just one defender this summer. Mourinho is also keen to bring Luka Modric with him from Real Madrid in a deal which could cost Chelsea £30 million, a similar price to what Madrid paid for Modric last summer. Chelsea are also looking into securing German winger Andre Schurrle from Bayern Leverkusen for a fee of £20 million.
