Chelsea Transfer News: Ashley Cole To PSG?

Paris Saint-Germain have made an audacious move to sign Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole.

The Mirror. 31-year-old England international Cole, who has one year left to run on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, has yet to be offered a new deal which has alerted a number of top European clubs about his possible availability. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly mulling a move for Cole to replace Patrice Evra and now comes word that big spenders PSG will attempt to lure Cole away from the European Champions. Reportedly, Chelsea still insist that their veteran defender will be offered a new three-year contract but the stalling on the deal has put into doubt his long term future at the club. The vastly-experienced defender has spent six seasons at Chelsea and has made over 250 appearances and is said to be very happy at the Bridge where he added two further medals to his cabinet last season. He is perhaps one of the modern era€™s most successful ever English players not to have played for Manchester United having won the Premier League on 3 occasions, the Champions League, the FA cup 7 times, the League cup at his time at Arsenal and Chelsea and is two appearances away from making 100 appearances for England. Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is the current PSG manager and was a big admirer of Cole's during his years at Chelsea and is hoping that the player's frustration at the delayed contract offer could lead him to become unsettled and ask for a move away.
