Chelsea Transfer News: Florent Malouda To Vasco Da Gama?

Reports are that Malouda's former Lyon team-mate and current Vasco da Game star Juninho has recommended the Chelsea winger to manager Cristovao Borges.

The Chelsea exodus is set to continue with The Daily Mail reporting that Florent Malouda's representatives have held early talks with Brazilian side Vasco da Gama about a move away from Stamford Bridge. The French international has just returned from Euro 2012 duty and is already eyeing a possible move to South America, following the exits of Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka, Salomon Kalou and Jose Boswingwa in the past year. Reports are that Malouda's former Lyon team-mate and current Vasco da Game star Juninho has recommended the Chelsea winger to manager Cristovao Borges. 32-year-old Malouda has just one year left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge and the Chelsea hierarchy now have the conundrum of whether to sell him now for fear of losing him on a free next year, or offer him an extension to his current deal. With Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo believed to be under instructions from chairman Roman Abrahamovich to look to youth for the future, it may be time for Malouda to be offloaded. Malouda joined Chelsea for £13 million in 2007 and has played 149 times, scoring 35 goals.
