"It's a phenomenal club. It's one of the biggest and best clubs in the world, and it's an honour to sign for Chelsea. I didn't take much convincing to come here."
First coming to England in 1996 to join Bradford City, Schwarzer made a name for himself in the Premier League for Middlesbrough, a club he represented over 400 times in 11 years at the Riverside. He won the 2003 League Cup during his spell on Teeside and played in the final of the 2006 UEFA Cup final against Sevilla. Schwarzer moved to Fulham in 2008, where he continued to be the number 1 choice of a Premier League club, appearing 220 times in the Cottagers' jersey during his five year spell. During that time Fulham
reportedly turned down an offer from The Gunners that would have gave Schwarzer a late career move to Arsenal. For Australia, Schwarzer represented his country 108 times, including the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. Additionally, he helped the Socceroos qualify for next summer's 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which he looks set to be involved in. source -
