Chelsea Transfers: 5 Best & 5 Worst Ever January Deals

2. Demba Ba

Ba Signed: 4th January 2013 Fee: £7,000,000 After bursting onto the Premier League scene at Newcastle, Demba Ba had a fantastic start to the 2012/2013 season, bagging goal after goal seemingly at will. He attracted attention from a number of clubs, however in the end opted for a move to Chelsea. The £7 million price tag seems like an absolute bargain for Chelsea as they have acquired an out-and-out goal scorer for less than £10 million in the modern market. He has struggled for first team football at Chelsea, however when he has been given a chance he has shone. A prime example of this came in the FA Cup quarter final replay match against Manchester United where he bagged the winning goal through a deft touch and reflex finish. He is sure to be a big name for Chelsea in seasons to come!
