Chelsea Transfers: 5 Forwards To Replace Daniel Sturridge

4. David Villa

Another cost-effective and shrewd signing would be that of David Villa. (Check out our Five Reasons Why Benitez Must Sign David Villa piece). It has been suggested the Barcelona outcast, who has made only five starts for the current runaway La Liga leaders this season, could be offered to Chelsea on a loan deal. That would make good sense when you consider it would cost around £12million to sign him outright, and given that he is 31 years old and injury prone, that wouldn't make for very good business. However, bringing the Spaniard in perhaps until the summer or possibly beyond that could be a shrewd move on Rafa Benitez' part, particularly if Villa can rediscover his form at Valencia where he scored 13 times in 2008/09.
