Chelsea Transfers: 5 Key Signings Mourinho Must Bring To Stamford Bridge

5. Pepe

Pepe Chelsea have quite a few players within their ranks who are now coming toward the end of their storied playing careers, and one such player is 32 year old John Terry. The centre back has started only three league games this year and was dropped from the squad that lost the FA Cup semi-final to Manchester City last weekend, proof that his powers at Stamford Bridge are beginning to wane. The player himself recently accepted that he'd now have to get used to playing in a more limited role at Chelsea, as he appears to have fallen out of favour. If this is indeed the case, Chelsea are going to have to enter the market in search of a new centre back, and one signing Mourinho might make as new Chelsea boss is Pepe, the Real Madrid centre half. Mourinho has in the past been known to surround himself with Portuguese players at the clubs he has managed, and so a move for the former Porto man would make good sense. Two years younger than Terry, more defensively sound and known to get the odd goal or two, Pepe would be a good addition to a Mourinho-led Chelsea side.
