Like a lot of Chelsea youngsters, Tammy Abraham has spent more time away from Stamford Bridge than in the first team. Two years ago the big striker enjoyed a fantastic loan spell at Bristol City in the Championship, scoring 23 goals in 41 league games. However, last season Abraham struggled in the Premier League with Swansea, and though he earned himself two England caps, he was never able to recapture the same form from the year before.
A season long loan to Derby in the Championship would allow Abraham the best chance to gain his confidence back, and possibly even get back in the England conversation if he impresses enough.
Another striking option will be needed next season for The Rams. After struggling with inconsistent strikers like Chris Martin and Darren Bent in recent years, and with Matej Vydra potentially out the door this summer, Lampard will need someone reliable who can score goals in the Championship.
