Chelsea Transfers - 5 Reasons Benitez Must Sign David Villa

5 reasons why Chelsea must sign David Villa.

Mirror this morning. The Spaniard has spent three seasons with Barcelona since joining from Valencia in 2010, and has scored 40 goals in 94 appearances since. However, he missed the entirety of the 2011/12 season for both club and country after breaking his tibia, which also caused him to miss Euro 2012. Since his return from injury, it has proved difficult for Villa to pick up where he left off this season and he hasn't managed to work his way back into the starting 11 at the Nou Camp. This has led to growing interest from a few clubs, but chief among them are Chelsea. The only drawback to any such deal is that the Spanish hitman is now 30, so the move would likely have to be on loan, which would suit both Chelsea and Barcelona - who do not want to lose their player permanently. Otherwise, Barcelona would want £12million for the player, a heavy price to pay for someone of such age and recent injury doubts. But David Villa still has a lot to give, and we believe Chelsea must sign David Villa - if not permanently, at least on loan. Here's 5 reasons why.
