5. He Is Young
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0MP1VqngfU At just 22, Benteke has all but cemented his place in the Belgium national team, scoring four goals in 13 appearances, whilst at the same time overcoming the physical nature of the Premier League. But the best is surely still to come, with most strikers continually demonstrating improvement until they generally peak in their mid-to-late twenties. Shrewd-spending and an impetus on youth development is a rarity amongst mega-rich football teams nowadays, with most teams ready to relinquish any amount required to land the world-class finished product. Teams such as Arsenal are firm advocates of the notion that a players potential should be viewed in as high a regard as his current ability. Gunners fans will not need to be reminded of the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie, who were bought at a young age and moulded into genuine world beaters. The same fate looks likely for Jack Wilshere, who has been one of Arsenals leading stars since his return from injury. Chelsea now have the chance to repeat a feat of similar magnitude with Benteke. The potential is there, no doubt. If he applies himself well, has exposure to regular first-team football and with a bit of luck, Chelsea could end up with a consistent 25-a-season striker in the midst.
