Chelsea Transfers: 5 Signings Jose Mourinho Must Make

4. Daniele De Rossi

de rossi Holding midfield has been somewhat of a problem position for Chelsea of late. Frank Lampard and Ramires have both been deployed there, but their attacking instincts can lead to the back four being exposed. David Luiz is probably better used at centre back and Obi Mikel and Romeu have been out of form and therefore Chelsea line-up. A ready made solution for this problem could be Daniele De Rossi, and Chelsea are in talks with Roma over a possible £15 million deal. Although De Rossi has a long term contract at Roma and has up until this point been a one club man, his form has dropped which is why Roma are willing to sell for so little. The maxim "form is temporary class is permanent", has been used recently by Chelsea fans to defend Fernando Torres, but could also be said of De Rossi who up until this season has demonstrated class aplenty in the midfields of Italy and Roma. The 29 year old would be a steadying presence in the Chelsea midfield, allowing their more agressive players to push forward through his defensive work rate, but also orchestrating play with his terrific range of passing.
