Chelsea Transfers: 5 Strikers Jose Mourinho Must Sign Before Window Closes

4. Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski Another option for Mourinho to bolster his forward line, if not an admittedly unlikely one, is Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international was in inspired form last season, scoring 24 Bundesliga goals, while he has bagged two in three appearances already this term. And that form has put the 25-year-old on the radar of a number of the continent's leading clubs this summer, such as Manchester City, United and Chelsea. Reports suggest Mourinho, who watched Lewandowski destroy his Real Madrid side in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, netting an astonishing four in the first leg, will try to sign the Dortmund man if his efforts to land Rooney fail. The only problem is that Lewandowski is widely expected to join Bayern Munich next summer on a free transfer - though Dortmund may be more inclined to sell the player now and receive a fee than lose him on a Bosman.
