Cricket World Cup 2015: 10 Dark Horses To Look Out For
2. Quinton de Kock
Age: 22 Team: South Africa Who: Fresh-faced South African wicketkeeper/batsman A tidy gloveman and an explosive, left-handed opening batsman, Quinton de Kock is very much the future of South African cricket. Aged just 22 and already with 63 international caps to his name (5 Tests, 38 ODIs, 20 T20Is), de Kock can proudly boast six ODI centuries; more than a lot of players hit in their entire careers. He made his international debut just days after his 20th birthday in 2012 in a T20I versus New Zealand having impressed at the Under-19 World Cup earlier in the year hitting 284 runs at an average of 48.33 in six matches. Having recently returned from injury after suffering a torn ankle ligament, de Kock's tournament hasn't gotten off to the best of starts with him having scored just 14 runs in two innings. With AB de Villiers capable of donning the gloves, de Kock will have to step it up in the next few matches in order to ensure he keeps his place in the team.
