Cricket World Cup 2015: 10 Dark Horses To Look Out For

10. Jason Holder

Age: 23 Team: West Indies Who: 6ft 7in pace-bowler and West Indies' youngest ever captain. When Jason Holder was given the nod to become the new West Indies ODI captain it came as a surprise to many people - him included. A young man with just 26 ODI appearances to his name prior to the tournament, Holder has had a mixed start to his World Cup captaincy career with a disappointing opening game loss to Ireland being slightly made up for by a comprehensive defeat of Pakistan. Being given the tough job of captaining a team very much in transition - pay disputes between the players and the board as well as the high profile omissions of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have rocked the team in recent times - Holder is a natural leader who is very much relishing the opportunity to captain a nation that won the first two World Cups back in 1975 and '79. A tall bowler of decent pace, Holder will enjoy bowling in Australian conditions and should be particularly effective when his side take on the Indians on March 6 at Perth. A useful batsman who scored a half-century on his Test debut versus New Zealand last year, Holder is a player who is expected to turn out in the maroon of the West Indies for a long time to come.
