This Chelsea performance certainly looked like it came from a team that was well on the way to recovery. Aside from the first twenty or so minutes, Chelsea dominated the proceedings and put in an assured performance. It wasn't vintage stuff that people will be talking about for years but it was the mark of a team that was finally at ease with itself. They were helped, in no small part, by an utterly insipid Palace performance but Chelsea should take credit for not allowing Palace a sniff of getting back in the game. Pardew has since said that Cesc Fabregas was the difference between the teams but this is probably a bit disingenuous. Oscar, Diego Costa, César Azpilicueta and Willian were were all magnificent, while captain John Terry and Kurt Zouma were assured throughout and didn't give Palace a way back in.
