While relegation is not on the cards for Palace and to think so would be a massive over reaction to a few bad results, it would be in their best interests to get to forty points as soon as possible. When sides lose form, it can become crippling and self perpetuating. As confidence brings goals and great football, a loss of form and confidence will bring the opposite. On paper, Palace went into this weekend's fixtures in great form. They were fifth and had lost none of their last six. However, after this result, Palace are now three without a win and haven't scored in that time. Form is fragile and perception matters. The sooner Palace can hit that magic forty point mark the sooner they can start playing with the freedom that can bring goals and excitement to a team that has been sorely lacking of late.
