Crystal Palace 1-2 Bournemouth - 6 Things We Learned

5. Campbell's In The Soup

I actually feel for Frazier Campbell; his disintegration is not fun to watch. It is not his fault that he is not good enough to play in the Premier League and had Connor Wickham not been a complete idiot and Dwight Gayle not been injured, he would not have been anywhere near the first team last night. Deadline day would have passed with Campbell being moved on to a Championship side. Last night was bad for him. Not only did he not look like scoring, his hold up play was the worst I've seen at Selhurst for a long time. He couldn't pass it five yards and the ball would not stick to him when he tried to control it. This lead to the Palace fans getting on his back and the player going further into his shell. His substitution on fifty eight minutes was a mercy killing. Make no mistake, Pardew messed up completely by letting Glenn Murray leave with one fit alternative number nine in the squad and the player he should have sold was Campbell. It would be better for the club and Campbell for him to be replaced with a youth player as he just isn't contributing and is actively harming the team's chances now. Players like Sullay Kaikai, Corrie Andrews and Reise Allassani are all talented and goal hungry. It's time they got a chance.
