Crystal Palace: A Premier League Job Nobody Wants?

Chris Coleman

Might a former Eagles playing favourite appease fans, who are wary of the downward curve the club are on, after the loss of great character Holloway? Coleman kept Fulham in the Premier League during a four-year spell between 2003 and 2007, and is out of contract as Wales national boss after the international break. His assistant John Hartson is stepping down fuelling speculation that he may do the same. Reports now say Coleman is meeting the Welsh FA to discuss a new deal, throwing a return to Selhurst Park into doubt. He is remembered fondly by Palace fans from his playing days during a four-year stint (1991 to 1995) when the club yo-yoed in and out of the top flight. Parish must go after Coleman if he is a serious option and the chairman is prepared to overlook uninspiring stints at Real Sociedad, Coventry City and Greek outfit Larissa. And what of Coleman himself? Dare he risk tarnishing his reputation as a beloved figure in Eagles history? The safe option is to sign a new deal and keep managing his country. Where does that leave Palace though? Click next for more options for Palace...
