Virtually every bookmaker had the South East London club as the odds-on favourite to go straight back down to the Championship. Indeed, the club had miraculously emerged through the Play-Offs against teams who were supposed to beat them so very few believed that they had the fire-power to hang in there with the Premier League big boys. Less than a year after that miraculous season started and here we are Palace shocked Barclays PL audiences the world over with a surge in the second half of the season under Manager of the Season Tony Pulis. The word synergy is what best encapsulates the Palace squad; greater than the sum of their parts. On paper Pulis (and Ian Holloway) had amassed a squad of Championship players and athletes who hadnt made the cut at other Premier League clubs. However, the work rate and desire to survive at Selhurst Park combined with the amazing support were factors which nobody accounted for. Wishing to establish Crystal Palace as a staple of the nations top league, Pulis will be eager to supplement his heroic squad with some new signings particularly with the rumours that several clubs are interested in snatching the talented, young Yanick Bolasie away from Selhurst Park.
