Crystal Palace Transfers: 5 Signings Ian Holloway Must Make To Avoid Relegation

1. Aiden McGeady

aidan mcgeady McGeady has recently announced that he is ready to quit Russia and wants to play in the English Premier League, and Crystal Palace would be one of many clubs that would suit the Ireland international. The current Spartak Moscow winger was close to a January move to Wigan Athletic which ultimately broke through, but with just one year remaining on his contract he may be on the move this summer. Moscow reportedly want just £3 million for the man who cost them over £6 million more just three years ago. This sum of money would suit Palace very well with the money received from Zaha and the royalties that come with promotion to the top flight, and McGeady would be more likely to start game-in game-out if he chooses Palace over the likes of Everton or Liverpool, who are reportedly interested in the want-away winger. McGeady dropped his biggest hint yet that he wants to swap Russia for England just a week ago,
"I don't want to spend another four or five years . Nothing to do with being there but, as I've said before, I'd like to try somewhere else. Maybe England."
If Palace can beat the likes of Everton, Sunderland, West Brom et al who are reportedly chasing the Irishman, McGeady could be the difference between relegation and a successful campaign. The £3 million it may take to sign him makes this potential transfer a coup, and one which Holloway should consider. Predicted transfer fee: £3 million
