There is no goalkeeper close to the level of Manuel Neuer at the moment, and he is not only the finest in the world in his position, but also well on his way to becoming an all-great to rival the likes of Peter Schmeichel, Dino Zoff and Lev Yashin. The 28-year-old has had a phenomenal year, winning the World Cup with Germany, in which he was arguably the standout player at the tournament, and winning another Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich. Neuer is taking goalkeeping to another level. He has mastered the sweeper-keeper role, virtually playing as an on-field player at times, and his shot-stopping, consistency and all-round influence for club and country are unbelievable at present. The fact he has reached the final three for the prestigious Ballon dOr award, alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, speaks volumes. The German star has so many years ahead of him still, especially as goalkeepers can keep playing at the top until they are 40, and its frightening to think what he will have achieved by the time he eventually hangs up his boots. He is a truly remarkable keeper. Honourable mention: Thibaut Courtois
