England: 5 Stars Who Should Break Through For World Cup 2014

4. Thomas Ince

Another member of Stuart Pearce's Under 21's side, Ince has just received recognition for his fantastic performances for Blackpool this season by being named Johnstone's Paint Young Player of the Year ahead of Zaha. Now under the watchful eye of the The Guvnor/The old man/Paul Ince, Thomas will be hoping that he can continue his excellent club form for the remainder of the season. Realistically, Ince will need to move if he wants to make the step up at International level. He may be content to continue his footballing education at Bloomfield Road having been unable to break through as a youngster at Liverpool but should he decide the time is right to move, there would be plenty of clubs waiting to snap him up, with his old club as well as Tottenham rumoured to be interested. One issue for Ince could be overtaking the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ashley Young, as England are not short of pace and trickery in the wide positions. One thing Ince does have in his locker which could give him an advantage over those mentioned, is goals - albeit in the Championship, having scored an impressive 19 goals in 33 games this season. If he takes this form into next season, he may have Pearce and Dad Paul fighting his corner and ready to bang on the manager's door. A scary prospect for anyone, let alone poor old Roy!
