England vs Brazil Preview: 5 Key Battles That Will Decide The Game

2. Wayne Rooney vs Julio Cesar

This one is a battle between two of the in-form players in the Premier League at present. Wayne Rooney broke his 6-game goal duck by scoring three goals in his last two appearances for Manchester United recently, whilst Julio Cesar has been instrumental for QPR and one of the reasons why the Premier League's basement side have now kept two consecutive clean-sheets against league champions Manchester City and Norwich. Cesar made some wonderful saves in those two encounters and is emerging as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League following his shock arrival from Inter Milan in the summer. Wayne Rooney meanwhile has demonstrated his worth to Manchester United by proving the Red Devils don't always have to rely on Robin van Persie by scoring the two winning goals against Southampton at the end of January before popping up with a dramatic late winner against Fulham last weekend. With England shorn of attackers tonight following Jermain Defoe and Daniel Sturridge pulling out of the side with injuries, Roy Hodgson will be hoping that the Man United ace can keep up his good form tonight. Cesar meanwhile will be looking to continue his good run of form also by thwarting the England international in front of goal.
