Everton 0-1 West Brom - 6 Things We Learned

4. Everton New Boy Oumar Niasse Must Hit The Ground Running

Improving their chances-to-conversions rate is a top priority for Everton, right up there with plugging the gaping holes in defence, and Deadline-Day capture Oumar Niasse could be the £13.5-million solution Martinez is looking for. The Senegal international trained this week, but was made to wait for his debut in a Blue shirt. If he hits the ground running at Goodison, he should ease the goalscoring burden on Lukaku, who was marked out of the game on Saturday, and provide extra support to attack-minded midfielders like Barkley when they venture into the danger zone. Niasse, who joined the Toffees from Lokomotiv Moscow, promises to add power and penetration to the Everton attack, but the big forward lacks match fitness as he hasn€™t played competitively since mid-December, when the Russian league began its winter break.
