Everton Transfer News: Falcao Injury To Wreck Lacina Traore Loan Move?

Everton€™s loan move for Lacina Traore has been cast into doubt and may be scuppered by a potentially serious injury to Radamel Falcao, according to the Express. The Toffee€™s had been hoping to secure a temporary deal to sign Monaco striker Traore this month but a knee injury sustained by Falcao may lead to the French club holding onto the player. Traore only signed for the ambitious, cash-rich Ligue 1 club from Anzhi Makhachkala in this window in a deal worth £8.6 million. Monaco had always planned to loan the 23-year-old straight back out, with Everton and their Premier League rivals West Ham believed to be possible destinations. But with Falcao suffering a suspected ACL injury that could prove to sideline him for the rest of the season and rule him out of the World Cup, manager Claudio Ranieri could have a rethink. A statement on Monaco€™s official website revealed the club are still awaiting results to find out the true extent of the injury to the Colombian international. Everton are likely to find out within the next 48 hours if their move for Traore is able to go ahead, with boss Roberto Martinez sweating that it may be called off. If the move is indeed scuppered, Martinez will be forced to go back to square one with less than a week of the transfer window remaining.
