Everton Transfer News: Nikica Jelavic To Leave For Germany?
Hamburger Morgenpost as saying:
"I have heard that Evertons new manager would allow him to leave."Hamburg have been linked with a move for the striker who misfired from January onwards last season before losing his place in the starting lineup to Victor Anichebe at the end of 2012-13. Since David Moyes departed from Goodison Park, new manager Roberto Martínez has signed striker Arouna Koné whom he worked with in his final season at the DW Stadium. The arrival of Koné began speculation about Jelavis future after a poor finish to last season. The Ivorian international scored 11 goals in his debut Premier League season with Wigan Athletic, playing both the central striker and right forward positions. Nikica Jelavi has been at Goodison Park for 18 months following his arrival from Glasgow Rangers in January 2012 where he went on to score 9 goals in 13 league appearances during the second half of the 2011-12 season. Last season, the Croatian striker scored 7 goals in 37 (26 starts) Premier League appearances for the Toffees, wasting a number of good opportunities. He scored just 1 goal in his final 1,604 minutes of Premier League action after his dramatic stoppage time winner versus Tottenham on 9 December. That goal secured 3 points in a 2-0 victory over Manchester City. Hamburg are looking for a striker after selling Son Heung-Min to fellow Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen earlier this summer. The South Korean forward was joint-top scorer for the Old Dinosaur with 12 goals last season. Fellow striker Artjoms Rudnevs who also scored 12 league goals last season remains with the club who have also signed striker Jacques Zoua from FC Basel this summer. Like Everton, Hamburger SV will not be competing in European competition this season after finishing seventh in their domestic league in 2012-13.
