Everton Transfers: 9 Players Martinez Must Sign In January

2. Denys Boyko

The goalkeeping situation at Goodison Park is a point of intense discussion among the club€™s supporters, with first-choice stopper Tim Howard having just turned 37 and question marks around understudy Joel Robles's ability to step up and become a Premier League regular. One player who may have what it takes is FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk€™s keeper Denys Boyko, a giant of a man who helped his club to the Europa League final last season and has earned three caps for the Ukraine. The 6ft6 stopper was one of the heroes of Dnipro€™s European campaign, his good form earning him a UEFA team of the season nomination come the end of term. By contrast, Howard has allowed errors to creep into his game of late and, at times, looks a shadow of the goalkeeper who broke the record for number of saves in a World Cup match during the USA€™s 2-1 defeat to Belgium in the summer of 2014. With the American€™s days between the Everton sticks looking numbered, recruiting a replacement is nothing short of imperative.
