With veteran Tim Howard under mounting pressure to win back sections of the Everton fan base, Denys Boyko isnt the only goalkeeper the Blues are being linked with. Martinez continues to stand by Howard, but reports suggest that hes keeping tabs on Cardiff Citys Scottish international David Marshall, who impressed during the Bluebirds Premier League campaign of 2013-14, an otherwise dismal season for the club. Wales Online claims that Marshall would cost Everton in the region of £5 million, which seems like a steep price to pay for a 30-year-old, even if he does have a few good seasons left in him. Marshall, who has earned 21 caps for Scotland, joined Cardiff from Norwich City in 2009.
