Everton’s 2004/05 Champions League Qualifying Squad – Where Are They Now?
7. Marcus Bent
A £450,000 capture from Ipswich Town, Marcus Bent brought athleticism and aerial threat to the Everton attack when he joined the club in June 2004. Usually playing as a lone striker with support from Tim Cahill, Bents time on Merseyside wasnt exactly prolific, but his seven-goal return ultimately helped seal Champions League qualification. He netted winners against Manchester City and Middlesbrough, as well as levellers against Southampton and Aston Villa. Bent ended his playing career in Indonesia in 2012 and has since entered the oil business. Hes also had a few brushes with the law, most recently receiving suspended sentences for affray, possessing bladed articles, and possession of cocaine.
