M'Baye Niang (AC Milan) The mercurial talent that is M'Baye Niang has been touted as a player Newcastle have been chasing in the past, and it was French outlet L'Equipe who made the suggestion again this time around. However, it looks likely that Niang will remain at AC Milan and sign a new deal. Juanmi (Signed For Southampton, Formerly Of Malaga) Although HITC Sport claimed Newcastle had opened talks with Juami's representatives last month, the 22-year-old Spanish international forward instead signed for Southampton from Malaga in a deal worth £6 million. Bas Dost (Wolfsburg) One of Newcastle's primary transfer targets this summer, Bas Dost is interesting both the Magpies and Borussia Dortmund. With Newcastle valuing Dost at £9 million, Wolfsburg are becoming increasingly frustrated as they believe he is worth substantially more than that - and this transfer saga could drag on for a little while yet. Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers) Newcastle's No 1 transfer target. Queens Park Rangers want £15 million for their forward and, although the Magpies are interested, so too are Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United and Chelsea. If Austin is to arrive on Tyneside, the Magpies must buck up their ideas quickly and move in with a substantial bid.
