Every Player Newcastle Were Linked With In June

5. Forwards (Part 1)

Aleksandar Mitrovic (Anderlecht) Various reports in the Belgian media claimed that Newcastle had agreed a £15 million fee with Anderlecht for Aleksandar Mitrovic, then that Swansea City had seen an £11 million bid rejected, and finally that Chelsea now wanted the 20-year-old Serbian hitman. One thing is for sure - Newcastle would dearly love to sign him. Diego Rolan (Bordeaux) He certainly isn't high up the Magpies' priority list, but 22-year-old Bordeaux forward Diego Rolan was tipped as a Newcastle target by The Chronicle should the club's pursuit of Charlie Austin fail.
Sandro Ramirez (Barcelona) In May reports in Spain emerged suggesting Newcastle had agreed a deal with Barcelona to take 19-year-old forward Sandro Ramirez on a season-long loan deal next season, yet nothing ever materialised. The Chronicle insisted in June that the Magpies were still monitoring Sandro's situation, however. Patrick Bamford (Chelsea) Another player who plied his trade under Steve McClaren while on loan at Derby County, Patrick Bamford enjoyed a fruitful season at Middlesbrough in 2014-15 and has been linked with the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. However, Bamford has supposedly rejected the Magpies' overtures in favour of fighting for his first-team place at Chelsea.
