Fabio Capello Appointed Russia Coach

Former England manager Fabio Capello has been named the new manager of Russia.

the BBC, said:

"My next goal - to reach the finals of the World Cup in Brazil. After I had finished working in England, I was angry, and I wanted to continue working. I really want to fight for the Cup in Brazil. "I'll try to get my philosophy to match that which has brought the Russian national team success, and we will go to the World Cup in Brazil."
Russia have been paired in Group F of the World Cup Qualification Stages alongside Portugal, Israel, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg. Their first qualifier is against Azerbaijan on the 16th October. Capello will be hoping to improve on the teams disastrous European Championship campaign earlier this year, where they failed to progress past the Group Stages. His resume though is quite impressive; he has won seven Serie A titles in Italy and another two league titles in Spain with Real Madrid. He also won the Champions League with AC Milan in 1994.
