Fantasy Football Tips - 5 Expensive Flops You Should Always Avoid

4. David Silva

Team: Man City Value: £9.3 million Total Points: 17 David Silva is another expensive star who hasn't been performing at the top levels in recent weeks. In fairness, the Spain international has missed his side's last three games through injury, but then, he wasn't in particularly inspired form before he was sidelined anyway. Silva was one of Man City's shining lights in their title-winning campaign of 2011/12, scoring six league goals and providing an impressive 17 assists to help his side to the championship. However, in the season that followed, his form dipped dramatically and his inconsistency was just one of the reasons why the Citizens failed to retain their title. Silva's statistics nosedived in 2012/13 - four league goals and 10 assists - and though he showed a flicker of promise on matchday one this season, scoring against Newcastle, he's got a lot of questions to answer this term following a season of indifference.
