Fantasy Premier League Tips: 11 Best Cheap Players For 2014-15
2. Edin Dzeko - Forward
An even cheaper option is Edin Dzeko, which is somewhat puzzling considering his heroic goal-scoring feats for Manchester City last season. But hey, we don't set the valuations. Dzeko netted 16 times in 31 appearances in 2013-14, and 26 in 46 total appearances for the Citizens, meaning he's always a likely source of goals. Though he's cheap, there's a catch. The Bosnian is often used as an impact substitute by manager Manuel Pellegrini, and played a full 90 minutes just 10 times out of his 31 appearances last term, according to Squawka stats. However, with Alvaro Negredo ruled out until the end of September with a foot injury and Sergio Aguero looking less than 100% fit, it could be that Dzeko gets the nod for the opening round of league fixtures at least. If so, he's a chance worth taking for £8.5 million, and even if he doesn't play every week, he's always likely to come on and get in on the action at some point in the game. Dzeko has scored a total of 46 goals in 6,100 minutes of football since joining City in 2011, a ratio that equals to a goal every 133 minutes - one of the best historical goal ratios in England, according to the Metro. Value: £8.5 million
