Fantasy Premier League Tips: 11 Essential Players You Must Consider

1. Robin van Persie (Manchester United)

Robin van Persie may have endured something of a poor season in 2013-14, but he is expected to bounce back with a flourish this term. Van Persie struggled with injury last time out, and made only 21 Premier League appearances for Manchester United. That meant he wasn't able to replicate the heroic goal-scoring form of his debut season at Old Trafford, that saw him plunder 26 league goals and win the Golden Boot. Instead he managed a return of just 12 from his limited playing time but with fellow Dutchman Louis van Gaal in charge and a successful World \Cup campaign acting as the wind in his sails, we could see RVP come back with a bang in 2014-15. The striker has a positive relationship with van Gaal - as was evidenced during the finals in Brazil - while his confidence is soaring after scoring one of the goals of the World Cup, with his audacious, acrobatic diving header against Spain dropping jaws to the floor. At £12.5 million, van Persie is at the business end of the spectrum used to value strikers in Fantasy Premier League but if he can replicate the stunning form he enjoyed during his first season at the Theatre of Dreams and at this summer's World Cup, those who pick the Netherlands man could be rolling in points in 2014-15.
