Fantasy Premier League Tips: 11 Essential Players You Must Consider

7. Mathieu Debuchy (Arsenal)

One final defensive option for your Fantasy Football team in 2014-15 is Arsenal new-boy Mathieu Debuchy. The Frenchman has joined the Gunners from Newcastle United this summer as a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who has become just the latest player in recent history to swap the Emirates for the Etihad. And he put in a cracking performance in his first senior appearance for his new side against City, looking promising in Arsenal's 3-0 Community Shield victory over the Citizens at Wembley Stadium last weekend. The right-back made a series of offensive runs and looked a danger in attack, and could be a unique source of goals this season. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger recently praised the defender for taking the game to the opposition, saying: "He is sharp in his marking, good with interceptions and quick to go from defence to attack. You feel he always has the desire to go forward, so I believe he will be perfectly suited to our style in that aspect." Debuchy is also cheap this season, and will only set you back a reasonable £5.5 million if you land him in your teams before the start of the first gameweek this weekend. A shrewd bet perhaps, but it could be one that pays out.
