Fantasy Premier League Tips: 15 Best Point-Scoring Midfielders For 2017/18

12. Anthony Knockaert

Club: Brighton

Cost: £6m

The Frenchman is definitely more of a gamble than some of the established Premier League sides, and indeed he's already had one mostly unsuccessful stint in the top flight, but he was by far Brighton's best player last year. And the step down to the Championship has definitely improved his game.

The flying winger scored 15 goals last season, assisted 5 times and created 85 chances in total. There's a good reason Glenn Murray scored 23 goals last season, and a lot of it comes down to Knockaert's attacking play.

It seems inevitable that Brighton will rely even more heavily on Knockaert this season too, as they are forced to sit back a lot more (the same trick Chris Hughton tried when he brought Newcastle up). And there's no way Knockaert will be sitting back and defending, even if his team does, so expect him to take the lion's share of Brighton's attacking points. For £6m, that's a good gamble to take.
