Fantasy Premier League Tips 2014: 15 Best Point-Per-Pound Buys

2. Didier Drogba (Chelsea) £6.5m

Last Season's Points Total: N/A. Didier Drogba has returned to Chelsea and, while he might not be guaranteed a start every game (not when they've paid so much money for Diego Costa) and while he might be 36 years old and well past his prime, the fact is that Drogba scores goals wherever he goes and for a mere £6.5 million he's worth a punt. At his last club - Turkish giants Galatasaray - he scored 13 goals in 34 appearances. Not a bad record at all. And with the great service he will get when he plays for Chelsea, you can guarantee he'll take advantage. While you might not want Drogba in your starting line-up, you can put him on your bench at that low price and, in the event that he's due to play because of an injury, you can bring him in and almost guarantee that he'll score you points. On the contrary, if Costa doesn't live up to expectations, Drogba might end up starting again and he could bag you twenty goals! He's still that good.
